I was just out on the terrace, and found Tigger on the sunlounger having a sleep.  As soon as he heard me he rolled onto his back and wanted stroaking.  I had hardly began, as Gypsie came running, threw herself onto her back and wanted attebntion too.  What crazy animals we have.

If your are spending some time on Gran Canaria and are a little tired of the Beach and Sand, why not take a drive or Bus to Teror.  There you can either walk around the famous Church, the Museum and the Village or go a little further to visit the Finca Osorio.  The Finca not only has beautiful ways for walking with a variety of routs, it also has a Farm where you can visit the Animals.

Another great Aspect are the collection of Trees and Plants there in and around the Gardens.

So realy a place well worth visiting.  If you have time take a Picknick, as it has a nicely situated Picknick area with Tables and Benches.  And the View from some places on the Finca are breath taking.

Yesterday evening was the Fiesta Romeria in Teror.  Once again the atmosphere was just unbelievable.  The people were singing and dancing in the streets wearing their traditional costumes.  From all around the area the different Villages displayed their products on beautifully decorated carts.

And you even were offered tastes of the local products.  It was once again a very successful evening with lots of fun, singing and dancing until the early hours of the morning, until it was finished off with a huge firework display.

I had to take the car to the Garage this morning, and decided to walk it back.  Unfortunatly i did not take into consideration that it was all uphill, and by the time i got home over an hourr later, i was wet through right to my underwear.

This afternoon i was feeling fit again, grabbed Gypsie and off we went back down to Miraflor.  The weather was at its finest, and the only thing that put a dampner on the whole journey, was the traffic.

Since the weather held a little, i decided to take a walk down town to the market.  Upon arriving, i was suprised to find young and old on their knees decorating the roads for the Corpus Christi Procesion leading to and from the church and the monestary.

It was fascinating to see how much care was beeing put into theses works of art, only to be trampled upon in the end.

At last, the weather brightened up enough this afternoon (16.00) for us to leave the house for a walk.  The sun was warming us through nicely, and blowing away my bad mood.

Our walk around the Finca Osorio was filled with lovely sights and smells.  The wild roses were giving of a parfume, slightly sweet but fruity, and the bushes were full in bloom and fruits.  On the Farm, there were some new born little black piglets, which were suckling, and seemed glued to their mums nipples (all but one which turned its back on the others).  In the Cowshed, there were two 2 week old calfs on wobbly legs gambling about.  What a nice end to the day.

I dont know what this Plant is called, but the fruits on it were a lovely colour.

Well at long last, the weather has turned once again into sunshine (maybe i shouldnt shout too loud).  We have 21° in the shade and it is still rising.

It is strange, how quickly the weather conditions change here in the mountains.  For weeks-months we had rain and cold weather, and all around everything was looking juicy and green.

Then we had a spell of hot weather (8 days) with temperatures of up to 38° in the shade. During that time, the vegitation dried up and burnt, and all round it looked like autum because the trees were shedding their leaves and the bushes and plants turned orange and brown.

These last few days again we had constant rain, and once again all around everything is green and healthy looking, and all around the plants are sprouting and flowering.

Where they were harvesting the potatoes a few weeks ago and the acres were dug over and brown, now the Sweetkorn and the Korn is sprouting.

This nice weather does not only seem to affect the mood of the people, but it works its magic on nature too.  Everywhere you look, colours and flowers.  You cant feel anything but happy.

Unfortunatly not everyone apreciates the beauty of nature.

At the Finca Osorio, we met a few shool classes, and what sticks in mind is , that the small children have very few problems aproaching you about your dogs, once they have been assured that they are not dangerous. (The only danger with my dogs is, that they would lick you to death.) Mostly it is the teenage girls that hide screaching behind the boys or run away (mind you there are some lads that react like that too), but i think its all a ploy to get the boys interest.

My 2 Girls just ignore them and carry on walking.

After an hour, we headed back home, and on arrival, i went into the garden picked some oranges and made myself a nice healthy vitamin drink.

Now i will take myself and the mop outside to clean up the mess on the terrace which the weather has created the last few days.  Funny, im not even bothered.  Im just in a good mood.
