Beaurocracy is Hell
It has been one hell of a day today, and it does not seem to end.
This morning i got a phone call from my son, telling me that they will not be able to come to the Canary Islands for their booked and paid Holiday, as he can not get a Passport replacement.
He has lost his passport, and wants to aply for a replacement. Unfortunatly, he has to have the form signed by a British Passport holder, who has known him for 2 years, and holds a certain standard of degree.
Since my son is only back in Britain since 2005, he does not have anyone who can vouch for him. I phoned the Passport Office, to find out what could be done in this case, and all i got was “Well he will have to wait longer then until someone can vouch for him” ??????????????
Where the Hell are we living???? He is British, he has a valid Passport which he has lost, so if he applies for a replacement, they can countercheck with his old details and picture to varify that it is him. I even asked if my Sister in Law could sign, as she knows him since Birth, BUT NO OF COURSE NOT. What is the sense in this ???
Now I have told him to go and see his Local GP (From Pakistan) and he will sign his Form for a fee of 20 pounds for him, 20 pounds for the new Baby, and 20 pounds for his Girlfiriends Forms. Is he a better person to vouch for the Identity of my Son??? just because he has a Doctor title and gets paid for the signature??? I think not.
It is not even sure if the Baby will get a Passport, because even though she is born in Britain, and her Father is British, her Mother is German. The Passport office just said they will wait until they get the papers before making a decision.
I thought Europ was supose to make everything easier, BULL…T
It is a Beaurocratic Jungle out there, and if you dont know the right people, then you will have to fight for survival.
