Playa del Vargas
Since the weather wasnt up to scratch today, i decided to take the dogs down south for a nice long walk.

For a change we decided to go to Playa del Vargas (lies between the Airport and Vecindario). We havnt been there for a while so it made a nice change.
This beach has no sand, but it is perfect for Windsurfing and walking if you like hills.
As we set off, we had the dark clouds at the back of us, and in front of us over the ocean, there was blue sky. It was a spectacular sight, and very pleasant walking. Even though i had my fleece jacket on, i was not too warm.
Chiara suddenly took of after something, and it took ages for her to come back, Tongue hanging nearly on the ground. No shouting, whistling or anything else works with her when she gets a bee in her bonnet.
As we were walking direction Arinaga, we cam accross a very ugly building right in the middle of nowhere, plonked on the edge of the cliffs. I dont think that they have building regulations here, as something like that does not fit in the countryside.
As the dogs were thirsty and hot, we made our way down towards the Water. We found a small path and followed it. Along the way we met some fisher, who made their way along the cliffs. It seems like a very popular fishing spot.
At the bottom of the path, we were met by a very horrible sight. At the edge of the Water, someone had decided to dump all their rubish, and i can not understand this mentality at all. Surely it is more work, dragging the rubish through the countryside, than just putting it into the next bin. Ill never understand it.
Also a very upsetting picture was presented to us. In all the rubish, there was a dead very large Seaturtle. It looked like it had been cought by rotarblades of a ship, as part of it shell was missing. It was a very sad end for such a beautiful Animal.
Our Gypsie had nothing better to do of course, than to roll about on the dead animal, and as we were walking back, all i could smell was rotting flesh. I could not drive all the way back with a stinking dog in my car, i was heaving just as she was walking beside me.
So out came the babywipes, and i gave her a good rub down before we set off. 100 metres further on, i had to stop the car. Even though i had all the windows open , i could not stand the stench in the car. I got out the Deo spray, and gave our dog a good spraying. She did not like that at all.
When we got home, i first tied Gypsie to the fence, and bathed her in the garden before letting her back in the house. Now we can stand having her around us again.
