Happy New Year

I think the picture speaks for itself this morning. The temperature is 16° in the shade and rising, all around blue sky and sunshine. In the mountains not a cloud in sight. Perfect for the changing of the year.

Now that the old year is comming to an end, it is time to reflect on what has happened this last year, good and bad, and think about what the New Year may bring.
We have had a lot of highs and lows, and somehow i cant help but wonder what i could or should have done differently. Beitrag lesen »

Another glorious day, with sunshine and blue sky, and the tempertaure is 18° in the shade and rising. Everywhere you look the Garden is bluming and the Oranges are hanging juicy in the tree.

I have in the past written about the terrible state of Jinemar beach (German Link ) pictures under http://www.mypics.tv/main.php?g2_itemId=1009 Strand von Jinemar.
It has been the most terrible sight anyone can imagine. It was littered daily with not only stuff wasched in from the sea, but with household rubish and stuff which belongs on the tip. It seemed to me like someone dumps lorry loads of rubish into the sea each night.
Yesterday i was on the beach with my dogs, and was totally suprised to find a troup of people cleaning up the beach. They raked together all the rubish (wood, plastic, paper and anything else) and burnt it. All along the beach were little fireplaces with stinking black smoking fires. Im sure they didnt do the environment much good.
Now the question is, why are the so carefully tidying up the beach all of a sudden? has it got something to do with the new Centre that they have almost finished building? The Street leading up to i runs above the beach. Are they trying to make people believe it is always as clean and tidy as that?
Who are they trying to fool?. What are they going to do about the prostitution on the beach? and how are they going to stop people repairing their cars on the beach or dumping their rubisch. What are they going to do about the dogs who live on the beach, feedíng on the left overs? What about the pool of stinking sewage which flows from Jinemar direktly into the sea?
Ok they have closed off the drive that lead to the beach and have created a new steep entrance, but i dont think that will cure the problem. I will keep my eyes open the next few weeks/months and will watch what happens.

It looks like the weather is going to match the last few days. We have blue sky all around, and the temperature is rising. At the moment it is still only 16° in the shade, but i think it will reach about 20-21° in the shade again today.

Just gotten back from the beach, and we have 21° in the shade here in the mountains with a little wind. The dogs loved the warm sand and the cool water.

A lovely sunny Christmas day with 20° in the shade. All around us only blue sky. It makes up for quite a few things.
